Each electric car comes with its own charger unit, but it
doesn't stop the birth of charger from third-party vendors, such as what's done
by ChargePoint. The California-based company has recently introduced
ChargePoint Home, a home electric car charger with smart features and the
integration with smart home.
ChargePoint Home is claimed to be compatible with all
electric cars on the market, not only for Tesla cars. It consists of a number
of variants with different power charging capabilities and cable lengths. In
each hour, the most expensive variant of ChargePoint Home can support the
electric car mileage up to 40 km.
Armed with Wi-Fi, ChargePoint Home can forward the
information to the companion application on the smartphone. For example, you
can find out how many kilometers the distance that can be taken when the car
was in-charge only for 2 hours. You are free to set a timetable when the
ChargePoint Home will be active and charge the battery car as you like.
Furthermore, the ChargePoint Home can also send
notifications in the form of a reminder when you forget to recharge the car's
battery. About the smart home integration, ChargePoint Home can be used
together with Nest Smart Thermostat so that users can monitor the energy
consumption.
ChargePoint Home is scheduled to go on sale in this summer
via Amazon. The price offered varies depending on the variants, with a range of
$ 499 to $ 749.
