Xiaomi is known as one of smartphone manufacturers that are
shining today. This business that makes Xiaomi becomes one of major players in
the mobile device industry.
But smartphone is not the only category that's undertaken by
Xiaomi, this company also makes wearable devices, electronics, cameras, and
recently Xiaomi introduces a new ecosystem, a mini segway called Ninebot Mini.
Introduced in Beijing, Ninebot Mini is the result of
collaboration between Xiaomi and Ninebot, a Chinese local company that's funded
by Xiaomi itself. We flashback a little bit, in April, Ninebot did its first
expansion by acquiring Segway.
But unlike the Segway, Ninebot Mini doesn't have handlebars,
it has a smaller size, the wheels are also smaller, and with lower price, in
China the Ninebot Mini is priced at $ 315 per unit.
According to Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun, the Ninebot Mini can run
at a maximum speed of up to 16km per hour, and climbs 15 degrees inclines
easily. This capability is supported by its light weight, which is only 12,8kg.
To push the wheels, Ninebot Mini uses a battery that's
claimed can provide energy for running as far as 22km on a single recharge.
Xiaomi also features remote control via smartphone which also functions as
speed monitoring panel.
Currently Ninebot Mini has been displayed on Xiaomi's site,
but the official sales will start on 3rd November with two color choices: black
and white.
