Security is a top priority for all online-based service
providers, including Facebook, which now becomes one of the biggest social
media in the world. To ensure the users' accounts are well protected, Facebook
has launched a new feature called Security Checkup.
Security Checkup is basically a tool that will help Facebook
users to secure their accounts but still gives freedom for the users to choose
the available options.
Facebook has confirmed that the Security Checkup feature
will be available gradually starting from Thursday, July 30, 2015. Users who
already get a turn will automatically find a notification in the timeline and
they can try it.
But if you want to try this feature now, you can visit
www.facebook.com/help/securitycheckup and find a button to run it in your
account.
In the Security Checkup window you will be given the option
to logout from unused apps or are in the login status.
Next there is Login Alerts which provides notification when
someone tries to log in to users accounts via a new/unknown device or browser.
Security Checkup also provides some tips and recommendations
for securing the accounts, including how to create passwords that are difficult
to predict and some helpful tips to protect users' accounts.
For now the Security Checkup feature is available only for
desktop platform. Facebook plans to release it on the mobile platform but
there's no information about the launch date.
