Various devices that support Windows 10

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella explained that hundreds of new devices from hardware manufacturers have been prepared to welcome the presence of Windows 10.

In a conference call with the shareholders, Satya revealed interesting information. Partner OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) has had more than 2,000 devices and configurations that have been tested for the purpose of Windows 10 upgrading, and also hundreds of designs of new devices that are made specifically for Windows 10.

At the launch of Windows 10 on 29 July, some manufacturers have been preparing new devices with Windows 10 pre-installed. However Satya confirmed that start from the holiday season later - referring to the end of summer holidays in the US, around September - the offers of new devices which support Windows 10 will achieve a high number, and would even be the highest from the hardware segment that Microsoft has ever done, and be ready to spoil the PC users.

Furthermore, Satya divided the launch into three phases. The first phase is the upgrade phase. Microsoft Store and each representative of Microsoft in various countries will launch a campaign so that users of Windows will do upgrade process to Windows 10. It is intended for the PC users and the devices are compatible to run Windows 10.

The second phase is new devices phase. Hundreds of new devices are ready to be sold from September 2015, in the same time with the end of summer holidays and welcome the Christmas and New Year holidays. Toshiba is the most aggressive manufacturer that announces its readiness to provide at least 10 new variants.

The third phase is the adoption by the enterprises which is believed will take place in a longer period. It's related to the complexity of the upgrading process which requires mature planning and more time compared to the individual upgrade process.

If you want to enjoy the Windows 10 features optimally, you better wait until the new devices are launched. This is because some of the features such as Windows Hello, Continuum and Miracast projection require special hardware that's not available on the devices that are currently circulating on the market. But if you don't really care about that, most of the new devices that are released and prepared for Windows 8 can also be used to run the Windows 10.
