OnePlus 2 launch day is getting closer; the successor of
OnePlus One is scheduled for release on July 27, 2015. And to enliven its
presence, OnePlus has released some teasers. And the newest teaser is OnePlus
discloses the use of 4G of LPDDR4 RAM in their new flagship smartphone.
Revealed through their official forum and fan page, the
teaser confirmed that OnePlus 2 will use the latest LPDDR4 RAM with 4GB
capacity. According OnePlus, this RAM will make their latest smartphone much
faster, smoother for games, and more efficient.
With the same power consumption profile, LPDDR4 RAM is
claimed will provide bandwidth performance that's twice better than the LPDDR3
variant. It uses a lower operating voltage, 1.1V vs. 1.2V.
Not only more power efficient, LPDDR4 is also capable of
producing speeds of up to 32GB/s, twice faster than its predecessor. It is
delivering a superior performance and lower power consumption. To optimize
power, LPDDR4 also supports low-frequency mode by lowering the clock speed when
the phone is only running the light duties.
LPDDR4 RAM also allows users to enjoy features such as
slow-motion video, low-latency gaming and facial recognition technology which
is considered in need of more bandwidth and potentially cause the smartphone
jams.
At the end of their explanation, OnePlus said that
Snapdragon 810 processor they use has supported 64-bit computing which is
designed to accommodate the 4GB RAM, not the same as the 32-bit variant which's
only able to receive 3GB.
