Email is a very flexible communication media. Email can be
used for both short and long messages, and most importantly, email doesn't
concern about a platform. That's why, in this instant messaging (IM) era, email
is not going to disappear just like that.
Microsoft through its creative division, Microsoft Garage,
has just released a unique application called Send. Different from Outlook,
Send is designed to accommodate the short messages we send and receive every
day.
If seen from the concept, it seems that Send application
wants to change the way we communicate via email to be like via IM application.
Send is not the first application that offers a similar concept, but the idea
is still interesting for people who are always busy with their emails.
Send doesn't display all the messages in the inbox, but only
that's begun in this application. You can send short messages to anyone with an
email address, and there's no subject column that needs to be filled or the
signature that appears, very similar to the IM application.
The conversation that's begun in Send can be continued in
other email applications and also web via Outlook. Simply put, Send is ideal
when you just want to ask a brief confirmation from a coworker, or simply want
to announce the schedule of next meeting.
Microsoft Send is currently available for Office 365
customers who are using iPhone. Unfortunately, this new application is
presented in the App Store only for US and Canada, whereas for other regions as
well as Android and Windows Phone versions will follow in the next few months.
