Google Jump, New Virtual Reality System from Google

Google seriousness in working on virtual reality devices continues. After Google Cardboard was presented as a solution to enjoy virtual reality technology by using affordable material, now they introduce Google Jump.

In developing Google Jump, Google works together with GoPro that's known as a popular action camera manufacturer. Google Jump itself is a virtual reality system that consists of a device and a special application.

With the Google Jump system, you will be able to produce videos that can be viewed in 360 degrees using a virtual reality headset. To enjoy the virtual reality videos, you will need a smartphone, Youtube application and of course Google Cardboard.

For video recording device, Google utilizes 16 GoPro cameras that are arranged in a circular with special geometric pattern that's designed by Google. Just like the Google Cardboard, the pattern will be released soon so that the users can try to make their own Google Jump device.

All the videos that are recorded by each camera will then be processed by Google Jump special application. This application will combine all the videos and then produce a virtual reality video with 3D stereoscopic. As an illustration, you can see the video below.
