Wednesday (05/13/2015), Asus officially launched Zenboox UX305 in the Indonesian market. This ultrabook was first introduced at the end
of the first quarter, but now Indonesian consumers can get it through a number
of Asus Indonesia distribution partners.
There are several special features of the Asus Zenboox
UX305. The main one is a super-compact body. Its weight is about 1.2 kg, while
the thickest point is around 12.3 millimeters. When compared to the MacBook
latest generation, the Apple's new laptop has a thickness of 13.1 millimeters.
This compact size can be obtained due to the use of
dual-core Intel Core M 5Y71 processor. This processor has a maximum speed of
2.9 GHz, and is made with 14 nanometer fabrication process. At the same time,
the power consumption is quite low; only about 3.5 to 4.5 watt. This also means
that it doesn't need to be accompanied by a cooling fan, which leads to almost
noiselessly performance.
Futhermore, there is 8 GB DDR3 RAM and 512 GB SSD storage.
Talking about the graphics performance, the Intel HD 5300 chip is ready to
supply the entire pixels that can be displayed by the 13.3-inch screen. The
screen has been equipped with IPS technology in order to maintain the color
consistency although viewed from the side, precisely up to 178 degree angle.
The resolution reaches 3,200 x 1,800 pixels, with a contrast ratio of 800:1 and
an anti-glare coating as a sweetener for those who often work outdoors.
Zenbook UX305 has a fairly comprehensive connectivity: 3 USB
3.0 ports have been embedded in the sides of this laptop. Each port is equipped
with Asus USB Charger Plus technology, which allows users to recharge the
batteries of smartphone or tablet up to 50 percent faster, even when the laptop
is in sleep state or shut down.
The 4 K video outputs can be routed via micro-HDMI 1.4b
connection, while the wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi AC and Bluetooth
4.0. Interestingly, Asus also provides USB converter to LAN so that users can
still connect their laptops via ethernet cable.
Battery life is also given special attention at this 8.1
Windows-based ultrabook. Combined with the power efficient processor, the 45Wh
battery is claimed can last up to 10 hours.
Asus Zenbook UX305 is offered around US$ 1.250. This laptop
has three color selections: Obsidian Black, Champagne Gold and Cheramic White -
the last two new colors will be presented at the end of this May.

US$ 870. This variant carries a slightly different specifications, including
full-HD display, 2 GHz dual-core Intel Core M 5Y10 processor, 4 GB RAM and 256
